There is Perfection in Imperfection!

by Catherine Foster

Have you ever heard the expression, ” Hit by a Mack truck?”.  Well it happened. There came a day, an interesting day, when I jumped off a sailboat to help tie it up and landed flat on my face on a cold wet wood planked dock. With the movement of the boat going up and down, I was having trouble seeing where to jump and hesitated too long.  The boat was nearing the dock and I had to jump before we crashed the sailboat.  Everyone was yelling,  “Jump, Jump off! Now!” In a split moment I built up my courage to jump. Flying in the air, time seemed to go on forever. Boom …I landed flat on my face. My glasses went flying. My head jerked back as it hit the wood curb on the dock and I was knocked out. I lay motionless. My sister thought I was dead. My nose broken and the flesh hanging down from the tip of my nose…. blood was everywhere, and I was in shock.  I was rushed to the emergency room in the nearby town.

After that, an adventure of a new way of being in the world came together in my life.

Nothing ever happens to us that good does not come from it. Often it is just about turning around and seeing the blessings in our story……………..

More on this story coming soon in a book! Stay tuned to Heal My Voice. The rest of my story will be in the book coming out in July.
