“Gloria The Maiden of Peace” was first created for a show on my Peace Prevails Project at C Art Gallery in Seattle WA ten years ago. Her clothing is created from the 3 wood plates I carved with over 350 world words of peace and peace prevails. The metal was then blowtorched to enrich the colors of the metal and put over the plates to emboss the words. There is something special about weaving the energy of world words of peace to create “Gloria” as if weaving the world together in peace.

“Gloria- The Maiden of Peace”- created 10 years ago for a show on the Peace Project for C Art Gallery in Seattle, WA.

Gloria has traveled to several Galleries in Washington and Oregon and some small museums. She is 6’2'“ tall. At her widest point she measures 36” across and 25” from front to back.

My intent is to have her purchased by a corporation or company that can help get her message out about peace-

“I know in my heart and soul that peace prevails and is spoken in many languages”- Catherine Foster

I believe that I was lead to creating her and other peace works to help the raise the consciousness that peace can be what we focus on. Many people have purchased parts of the Peace Project to place in their homes and businesses near a door or entrance way as a reminder to be the peace their desire in their life experience. (To see more on the Peace Prevails Project, please Click Here. She was created by first carving 3 wood plates with over 350 world languages of peace. Burnished copper was laid over the plates and run through an etching press. The copper was then cut up in strips and woven into the clothing.
